Scented or Unscented? How to Choose Your Whipped Tallow
How each of the six Whipped Tallow options smells, what our labels list for each scent, and how to choose.
Every jar of Whipped Tallow starts with the same three ingredients: grass-fed beef tallow, jojoba oil and calendula flowers. What changes from one option to the next is the scent. Here is how each one smells, what our labels list for it, and how to choose.
The short version
- Want no added scent? Choose Unscented.
- Want a light scent? Lavender adds organic lavender essential oil.
- Like warm and sweet? Try Vanilla Orange or Cedarwood Vanilla.
- Like fresh and bright? Try Citrus Blend or Eucalyptus Mint.
What every jar shares
Whipped Tallow is grass-fed beef tallow whipped until it’s light and airy, with jojoba oil and calendula flowers. On our labels, jojoba oil and calendula flowers are marked organic. The scented options add one to three scent ingredients to that base. Both jar sizes share the same list within each scent.

How to choose
If you’d rather have no added scent
Choose Unscented. It contains grass-fed beef tallow, organic jojoba oil and organic calendula flowers, with no added fragrance or essential oils, so you may notice the natural scent of the ingredients.
If you’d like a light scent
Lavender adds organic lavender essential oil to the same base, for a soft, floral scent.
If you like warm, sweet scents
Vanilla Orange pairs warm vanilla with sweet orange. Cedarwood Vanilla pairs warm cedarwood with vanilla, for a cozy, woodsy-sweet scent.
If you like fresh, bright scents
Citrus Blend brings lemon, pink grapefruit and sweet orange together. Eucalyptus Mint is cool eucalyptus and mint.
If your skin is reactive
Skin can respond differently from person to person. If your skin is reactive, consider an Unscented option and patch test first.
