Tallow and butters give it body; beeswax and lanolin give it staying power.
The base Grass-fed beef tallow Grass-fed tallow is the dense, moisturizing base of the balm.
It leads the label. Freedom Balm is firm to the touch by design and melts in slowly as it warms on your skin.

Jojoba oil comes from the seeds of the jojoba plant, and calendula is also called pot marigold. The infused oil helps this dense balm spread once it’s warm.
The structure Yellow beeswax Yellow beeswax is beeswax that hasn’t been bleached.
It keeps Freedom Balm firm in the tin and helps it stay where you smooth it on.
The melt Mango and cacao butters Mango butter comes from mango kernels and cacao butter from cacao beans.
Both give the balm its creamy, cushioned texture as it warms.
The silk Olive-derived squalane Squalane is a light, silky oil, and ours is derived from olives.
It adds a silky feel to this dense balm as you spread it.
The cushion Lanolin oil Lanolin comes from sheep’s wool, and lanolin oil is its liquid part.
It adds a soft, substantial finish that leaves dry areas feeling cushioned.
The scent Vanilla and four oils Freedom Balm has one signature scent: warm vanilla with quiet frankincense.
Vanilla oleoresin, a thick extract of vanilla beans, carries the warmth. Frankincense and myrrh essential oils come from tree resins, and bergamot FCF and sweet orange essential oils round out the blend.
The finish Three finishing touches Arrowroot powder, vitamin E oil and rosemary CO2 extract finish the balm.
Arrowroot powder, a fine starch from the root of the arrowroot plant, helps the balm feel smooth as you apply it. Vitamin E oil adds conditioning. Rosemary CO2 extract, the last ingredient on the label, is a concentrated rosemary extract made with carbon dioxide.

Freedom Balm vs Body Balm - which should I pick?
Freedom Balm is our richest body balm, with a dense texture and warm vanilla-frankincense scent. Body Balm is a firmer everyday option for dry body areas and comes in several scents. Choose the texture and scent that fit your routine.
Can I use it on my face?
It is built for the body. For your face, reach for Whipped Tallow or Nourishing Oil.
What does it smell like?
Warm vanilla with quiet frankincense. Freedom Balm has one signature scent; there is no Unscented option.
When should I apply it?
Warm a small amount between your fingers and massage it into dry body areas. Give the balm time to settle before dressing, and avoid applying more than you need.
Will it stain clothes or sheets?
Used in moderation, no. Let it absorb for a few minutes before dressing or getting into bed.
What should I do if it arrives softened?
Let the container stand upright in a cool place before opening. If you have concerns about the product when it arrives, contact us with your order number and a photo so we can help.
